After a year of development, We decided to use BSD in our projects. Now we have created JabirBSD as a rebrand of “FreeBSD” . after a while , we’ll fork it from FreeBSD and we’ll create a new BSD variant like “DragonFly” .

Now you can download and test version “1.0″ of JabirBSD .

Known Issues :

  • Live CD : We forgot to set a password for live “root” user , you can’t use Live mode.
  • Installation : If installer wants to restart , you shouldn’t restart the installation process, but you should choose “Exit” and unmount installation media , and reboot your system.

We chose  FreeBSD as base of JabirBSD. as fact, JabirBSD is a fork of FreeBSD and It won’t be released in 2013.

But we decided to release a remaster of DragonFlyBSD. DragonFlyBSD is a fork of FreeBSD 4.x , It has a hybrid kernel and It’s very fast and light. We want to release a remaster of DragonFlyBSD for Desktop usage, with a lightweight Window Manager or Desktop Environment.

Today , we have a new product, based on Linux-Libre kernel.

Our New product is Plan26 (Just for fun Vs. Plan9 from Bell labs :D ) .

1st version of Plan26 based on linux-libre-3.7.1 , and you can use IPv6 and other new technologies available in Linux 3.7 or later.

Installation Guide:
1- Download two files(from Download links)
2- copy them on a folder
3- open terminal emulator (GNOME,KDE,…)
4- type:
sudo dpkg –install kernel-headers.deb kernel-image.deb
5- after installation :
sudo update-grub
6- you can reboot your system and enjoy Plan26 :)

IMPORTANT:
1- virtualbox modules maybe damaged , DO NOT remove your previous kernel(s)
2- you should re-install graphics drivers.
